Ryan J.'s Story
School-After High School, I went to JCCC for Commercial Art. I dropped out when I became a commercial Artist and realized I could not stand working in a cubical all day.
Work- I paid for college by working for a lawn service for 4 years. After another 2 years of Home rehab and mowing I started my own Lawn service and 3 years later sold it when my daughter was diagnosed with Cancer. After a short time in several jobs and helping a few friends while my daughter was in the hospital, I finally got a position for a new deck washing company in the KC area and helped get them off the ground. But it was time for a career change, so I did a total career change and am now a Security systems tech for a nation wide bank, traveling bank to bank fixing security issues.
Family- I met my wife at Pogo's Dance club in 1995 I was a bouncer and I thought she was under age so I asked her for ID (I was wrong). One thing led to another and 5 years later we got...Expand for more
married. 4 years later we were blessed with our first child. When our daughter was 2 1/2 years old she was diagnosed with AML Leukemia. After 6 months in the hospital 5 months in remission, she relapsed. 3 more months of chemo later and a bone marrow transplant. She is alive and doing well now almost 2 years cancer free and about to be a big sister to our second baby girl.
Now- We are not rich, we don't own a house, and we don't drive new cars. But we have been blessed. God has shown us favor and we thank him every day for it. We have a daughter that has beaten unbelievable odds. We have seen a side of life that not many people get to see. We have a look on life are different then most people do. It is not about what you have or what you can get, it is about who you are and what you can do for others.
God Bless you all.
